7th July - Celebrating Carnival
The Carnival Parade is a brilliant way of promoting a group, school or business. The theme for the 2012 carnival parade is
'The Olympics - past, present and future'.
Carnival Parade Categories - 2012
Class 1 - Individual & Group Walkers (no vehicle)
Class 2 - Group Walkers (no vehicle)
Class 3 - Trade/Business - Decorated Vehicle / Float
Class 4 - Mobility Scooters, Pushchairs, Decorated Bikes
Class 5 - Community Group - Decorated Vehicle / Float
Class 6 - Visiting Carnival Court
Class 7 - Carnival Troupe / Mas Bands
Class 8 - Majorette Troupe

Parade Entry Form 2012 to follow
All entrants in the Parade to report to the registration desk at Broad Green from 9.30am to 11am
Timetable:
All participants should be at Broad Green between 9am to 11am to register.
The parade will start at 12 noon prompt.
All participants will be handed a collection bucket which remains the property of the Wellingborough Carnival Association. The bucket should be handed to the Collectors at the end of the parade upon reaching Croyland Park, Henshaw Road.
Monies collected on the parade will remain the property of Wellingborough Carnival Association.
The Carnival Parade route is as follows:
Starting from Broad Green down High Street, Church Street, Market Street, Midland Road, Castle Way, Sheep Street, Silver Street, Oxford Street, Northampton Road, Gillitts Road - finishing at Croyland Park on the Henshaw Road side entrance. Walking entries, small vehicles and Carnival Courts to go onto the Park with big lorries carrying along Henshaw Road and onto Kingsway to let their passangers disembark from their vehicle.

At Croyland Park
12noon Croyland Park opens to the public. Funfair, Childrens' attractions, a variety of food stalls, charity and trade stalls.

Please ensure that all those in your group are fully briefed and understand that they are taking part in the Parade entirely at their own risk

PARTICIPATION IN THE PARADE
Please ensure all children remain on floats at all times. Adults should be used to collect any coins from the road to avoid children putting themselves at risk running alongside vehicles collecting coins. Participation in the parade is entirely at your own risk

are available at Broad
Green. Sorry no changing facilities
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR A SAFE PARADE
Please ensure that children and young adults are supervised at all times. Ensure that there are no trailing leads etc and wear sensible footwear if walking. If you are playing music your equipment must be used in the way it is recommended by the manufacturers. All electrical equipment should be PAT tested. For safety reasons objects may not be thrown into the crowd. Please be aware of the weather conditions

Rules of the highway apply, do not drive whilst on a mobile phone, or let children ride on the outside of your car. This is dangerous and anyone found doing this will be removed from the parade.
